Police: Man accused of Harris Co. homicide moves body to Opelika

A 63-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death of David Bradarvelt, a man found dead April 8 behind the Crooked Creek Shopping Center in Opelika, authorities announced Monday afternoon in a press release.

Apprehended by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Michael George Dominguez was charged with murder after officials determined that he killed the 50-year-old Waverly Hall man in Harris County before transporting the body to Opelika in an attempt to dispose it.

Officials responded to the Crooked Creek Shopping Center in Opelika on April 8 after someone found the body behind the businesses at 710 Columbus Parkway. Deputy Lee County Coroner Gene Manning arrived on the scene later and pronounced him dead at 8:56 p.m. CST.

His body underwent an autopsy on April 11 at the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery, but officials have yet to release the exact cause of death.
