Opelika police seek identity of suspect in Family Dollar armed robbery
Opelika police are continuing their search for the gunman who robbed the Family Dollar at 1409 Second Ave on Friday night.
Officials released on Tuesday morning surveillance photos of the suspect, who reportedly entered the store around 9:55 p.m., produced a handgun and demanded money from the cashier. He fled the scene with scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, said police Capt. Shane Healey.
The suspect was described as a black man who is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, black pants, a black baseball style hat and a red shirt, according to the release.
