One charged in triple homicide in Auburn

Three men were killed early Saturday after gunfire erupted at Mr. D’s Lodge on Lee Road 83, Lee County authorities said.

The victims were identified as Roderick L. Nelms, 32, Jadarrion L. Spinks, 25, and Recco R. Cobb, 43, all of Auburn, police said. The bodies will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for postmortem examinations, Lee County Coroner Bill Harris said in a statement.

Tarabien Latrent Cobb, 33, also of Auburn was taken into custody Saturday afternoon on warrants for capital murder. He was found at a residence in Auburn and transported to the Lee County Jail where he is held without bond.

Auburn police were called to Mr. D’s Lodge for shots fired in the 1200 block of Lee Road 83. Shots were fired while officers were on the scene but police took control of the area and discovered that three men had been fatally shot. A 23-year-old victim was transported to East Alabama Medical Center ‘s emergency room with a gunshot.

An investigation revealed that an altercation occurred inside the lodge and numerous shots were fired shortly afterward in the parking lot.

All victims were local residents and authorities are investigating the deaths as a triple homicide. In addition to Auburn police, the Lee County Coroner’s Office an the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences are assisting in the investigation.

The suspect was arrested with help from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
