Auburn man charged with attempted murder in Opelika shooting
A 29-year-old man was arrested Friday afternoon in Auburn after he allegedly shot a 21-year-old man following an argument in Opelika.
Mialsdreaco Comez Chambers of Auburn, the accused, was taken into custody on an attempted murder warrant at 12:01 p.m. Friday in the 2000 block of block of Sara Avenue. He booked into the Lee County Jail without bond.
Authorities said Chambers shot the man following an April 1 argument in the 300 block of 16th Place and also shot into the victim’s vehicle as he was attempting to escape gunfire. By Wednesday, police had issued warrants for Chambers’ arrest.
The victim’s current condition wasn’t immediately made available.
