Authorities are seeking the identity of a woman who allegedly used credit card information stolen in Opelika on Saturday afternoon to purchase items at the Auburn Mall, officials announced Wednesday morning in a press release.

Opelika Police Capt. Shane Healey said the victim’s wallet was taken from her purse around 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wal-Mart at 2900 Pepperell Parkway. An hour later, the suspect used the victim’s credit card information to make $1,2000 worth of purchases at several stores inside of the Auburn Mall at 1627 Opelika Road, he said.

The Auburn Police Department is working in conjunction with the Opelika Police Department to identify the woman, who was caught on surveillance camera wearing a white polo-style shirt and possibly blue jeans.
