Police seize more than $2K worth of meth from Earline Avenue area

A man and woman were arrested Monday night after authorities found $2,830 worth of methamphetamine and more in a drug bust at the intersection of 39th Street and Earline Avenue, according to the Columbus Police Department.

Christi Gregory, 30, and Christopher Hammock, 25, were taken into custody on the scene around 6 p.m. that day. They were booked into the Muscogee County Jail, where they await a preliminary hearing set for 8 a.m. Wednesday in Columbus Recorder’s Court.

According to a police report, the evidence seized from the scene includes 28.3 grams of meth (street value of $2,830), .1 grams of heroin (street value of $30), 2 grams of marijuana (street value of $40), two ecstasy pills (street value of $40), three digital scales, three smoking devices and plastic baggies.

Gregory faces one count each of trafficking meth, possession of drug-related objects, possession of a drug on VGCSA Schedule IV (ecstasy) and no turning signal. Hammock was charged with possession of a drug on VGCSA Schedule I (heroin), possession of drug-related objects and possession of marijuana.
