Man, woman plead not guilty to drug bust in Earline Avenue area
The man and woman charged in connection with Monday afternoon’s drug bust at the intersection of Earline Avenue and 39th Street appeared in Columbus Recorder’s Court early Tuesday.
Christi Gregory, 30, and Christopher Hammock, 25, were arrested at the scene of the crime around 6 p.m. Monday after police found an assortment of narcotics and drug paraphernalia at the location.
The evidence seized included 28.3 grams of meth (street value of $2,830), .1 grams of heroin (street value of $30), 2 grams of marijuana (street value of $40), two ecstasy pills (street value of $40), three digital scales, three smoking devices and plastic baggies.
Gregory pleaded not guilty to one count each of trafficking meth, possession of drug-related objects, possession of a drug on VGCSA Schedule IV (ecstasy) and no turning signal. Hammock pleaded not guilty to possession of a drug on VGCSA Schedule I (heroin), possession of drug-related objects and possession of marijuana.
Hammock waived his preliminary hearing to Superior Court, and Judge Michael Cielinski bound Gregory’s case over to Superior Court. They were ordered to return to the Muscogee County Jail.
Gregory was denied bond on the trafficking charge but granted bonds totaling $35,150. Hammock was awarded bonds totaling $35,000.
