Shots fired at intersection of Howe Avenue and Wise Street

Columbus police are searching for suspects tied to the shooting that occurred Thursday night at the intersection of Howe Avenue and Wise Street.

Authorities said they were called to the scene around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, they spoke with witnesses who stated that shots were fired from two vehicles occupied by several men.

One vehicle was described as a black sedan and the other a white Tahoe with shattered windows.

When the shooting started, the vehicles and people in the area began to flee. One of the black men who fled on foot was wearing dark pants and a neon-colored shirt, much like a traffic vest, according to a police report.

A witness believes that the occupants in the Tahoe was struck by a bullet since he had his hand over the right side of his stomach, but Columbus Midtown Medical Center informed police that no one had been brought in with such injuries.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Officials continue to investigate the incident.
