Club shooting suspect faces additional charge

A Phenix City man who was charged Monday with murder in the shooting death of a Georgetown, Ga., man Sunday at the Jazzy Bones Club in Eufaula, Ala., faces an additional charge, police said Wednesday.

Sandarius Tremain Lewis, 20, is charged with one count of attempted murder in connection with a related incident at the club. He already was charged with first degree murder in the death of Devanta Deon Davis, 22. Lewis is held in the Eufaula City Jail where a bond will be set on the new charge.

Police were called about 12:38 a.m. to the club at 621 E. Barbour Street to check on a shooting. Davis was taken to Medical Center Barbour where he died of gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead less than an hour later by Barbour County Coroner Chip Chapman at 1:22 a.m.

The shooting remains under investigation, police said.
