LaGrange man shot in robbery attempt
Police in LaGrange, Ga. are investigating a robbery attempt in which a 24-year-old LaGrange man was shot in the right leg.
According to the police report, officers responded to a call at approximately 7:31 p.m. Friday.
The incident occurred in the 600 block of Murphy Avenue.
The victim told officers he was driving his vehicle when a person he was familiar with but whose name he did not know flagged him down.
He said the person then asked to borrow $20 but when he attempted to loan him the sum, the man pulled out a gun and demanded all of his money.
The victim said there was a struggle and a shot was fired which hit him in the leg. He said the thief then fled the scene.
The victim was treated and discharged from the Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.
He described his attacker as a black male between the ages of 16 and 18 who was wearing a white tank top, black pants and a black hat.
