Former employee charged in business burglary in Auburn

A 32-year-old Auburn man was arrested Monday after he alledgely burglarized on May 9 the business where he used to work, authorities announced in a press release.

Benjamin J. Galik, 32, was apprehended at an Auburn residence on felony warrants charging him with third-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property. He was booked into the Lee County Jail, where he’s eligible for a $6,000 bond.

Officials said they responded to a May 9 business burglary in the 100 block of North College Street. Upon arrival, they learned that someone had forced their way into the business after hours and stole an undertemined amount of money.

Further investiagtion led police to link Galik, who is a former employee of the business, to the incident. He was captured on video surveillance, officials said.
