Second suspect charged with attempted murder in Eufaula shooting

A second suspect is facing a charge in connection with the May 8 shooting at the Jazzy Bones Club in Eufaula, Ala., Phenix City Police Department posted on its website on Tuesday.

Damien Dickerson, who was wanted by Eufaula Police Department, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service and Phenix City police. He was wanted for attempted murder in connection with the nightclub shooting investigation, police said. Dickerson was turned over to the Eufaula police for transport to the Barbour County Jail.

Sandarius Tremain Lewis, 20, of Phenix City was charged with first-degree murder on May 9 in the death of Devanta Deon Davis, 22, of Georgetown, Ga. Lewis is held in the Eufaula City Jail where he also is charged with one count of attempted murder in connection with a related incident at the club.

Police were called about 12:38 a.m. to the club at 621 E. Barbour Street to check on a shooting. Davis was taken to the Medical Center Barbour where he died of gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead less than an hour later by the Barbour County coroner.

The shooting remains under investigation, police said.
