Baby dies in bathtub
A 9-month-old Columbus baby died Saturday night after apparently drowning in a bathtub.
According to the Muscogee County Coroner’s Office, Barbara Taylor was pronounced dead at 7:37 p.m. at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus. The baby was found face down in the tub.
The incident took place in an apartment on Gazebo Way.
The body will be sent to Atlanta on Monday for an autopsy.
According to a coroner’s report, the mother said she had fallen asleep and was not with the baby at the time of the incident. There was also a three-year-old child in the home at the time.
Police are investigating and no charges have been filed.
