Woman dies after being hit by truck in Russell County
A 36-year-old Phenix City woman died Sunday morning after being being struck by a pickup truck.
According to Russell County Deputy Coroner Billy Dixon, Danielle Shipp was walking across U.S. 431 when she was hit around 1:45 a.m.
He said the incident happened near Knowles Road.
Dixon pronounced her dead on the scene at 3:22 a.m.
Dixon said the woman was talking on the telephone when she was hit. He said the driver did not see Shipp. The driver was not injured.
