A Columbus man was charged with stalking early today after his wife passed out while running from him, police said.

Paul Gaede was taken to the Muscogee County Jail but later released on bond, officials said.

Police were called to The Palms Apartment at 2700 Double Churches Road to check on a domestic dispute at 2:11 a.m. At the scene, Gaede told police that his wife was running away from him when she passed out.

In a report, police said the wife told Gaede to stop following her and it placed her in fear of injury.
