Police: Man arrested minutes after Auburn burglary

An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with an Auburn burglary on North Ross Street, according to a news release from the Auburn Police Department.

Quentravius Heard, the accused, was charged with one count of third-degree burglary. He was transported to the Lee County Jail, where he will be eligible for a $3,000 bond.

Officials said the burglary in the 600 block of North Ross Street was still in progress when they were called to the area at 3:20 p.m. They were given a description of an individual seen fleeing from the residence after it was unlawfully entered.

Within minutes of the call, officers found Heard in the vicinity hiding in a wooded area. Identified as the burglar, he was taken into custody, officials said.
