One man is wounded and a woman is behind bars after an early Tuesday dispute concerning money led to a LaGrange stabbing on Vine Street, authorities announced Friday morning in a press release.
The victim, who sustained a laceration on his left ankle after being stabbed once, was transported to Well Star West Georgia Medical Center for treatment. His current condition is unknown.
Christine Marie Kelley was apprehended on the scene and charged with aggravated assault. She was booked into the Troup County Jail.
LaGrange police said they were called to the 200 block of Vine Street around 8:43 a.m. Tuesday to check on an ongoing dispute. When they arrived on the scene, they found Kelley and the victim fighting in the street.
Police was separating the two when the man informed officials that he had been stabbed.
Further investigation indicated that the victim and suspect were arguing about money, and it turned physical when Kelley withdrew a small knife and stabbed the man once.
