Auburn man arrested after allegedly nabbing cash, jewelry from home

A 29-year-old man was apprehended Tuesday after he allegedly stole $900 worth of jewelery and $40 in cash from a Auburn home on Lee Road 10, according to a news release from the Auburn Police Department.

Kelvin O. Hill of Auburn faces one count each of third-degree burglary and third-degree property theft in connection with the incident. He booked into the Lee County Jail, where he’ll be eligible for a $4,500 bond.

On July 11, a residential burglary was reported in the 800 block of Lee Road 10. The victim told authorities that three Michael Kors watches, a golden necklace and $40 in cash was taken from the home.

After further investigation, police determined that Hill was the burglar and took him into custody. Officials have yet to say what led them to identify him as the offender.
