Update: Two Columbus women accused of prostitution appear in court

Two Columbus women arrested on prostitution charges Tuesday afternoon in an undercover sting operation appeared in Columbus Recorder’s Court Wednesday morning.

Chanella Phyles Wiggins, 28, pleaded not guilty to the charge and one count of possession of drug-related objects. Judge Michael Cielinski ordered her held in the Muscogee County Jail under bonds totaling $1,000.

Skyland Necole Lightfoot, who is a 32-year-old pregnant woman, pleaded guilty to prostitution. She was given a own recognizance bond for $1,000.

Both cases were bound over to State Court.

An undercover Columbus officer with the Special Operations Unit said he was in the area of Cusseta Road investigating prostitution activity around 2 p.m. Tuesday when he came in contact with Lightfoot. He said she agreed to perform oral sex on him for $20.

When police were taking her into custody around 2:06 p.m., they allegedly found a condom in her right pocket.

The officer said he also spoke with 28-year-old Wiggins, who agreed to perform oral sex in exchange for $10 to $15. While taking her into custody around 2:20 p.m., officials located a glass smoking device with suspected crack cocaine residue in her purse, according to a report.
