Auburn University and the University of Georgia have made a list of the 100 safest colleges in the nation.

Also making the list compiled for 2017 by the National Council For Home Safety and Security was Georgia Southern University.

Auburn was ranked No. 52, Georgia Southern No. 82 and the University of Georgia No. 100.

Besides Auburn and Georgia, the only other Southeastern Conference School to make the list was Texas A&M at No. 39.

Topping the list was the University of New Hampshire.

The National Council for Home Safety and Security is a national trade association comprised of licensed alarm installers, contractors, and trade groups in the U.S.A.

More than 2,000 four-year colleges and universities were studied.

Data from the Federal Bureau df Investigation’s Uniform Crime Reporting and National Center for Education Statistics were used to compile the list.

Top ranked schools boast low overall crime rates (off campus) and maintain safe campuses with little or no crime.
