Columbus area schools will stay closed Tuesday in the wake of Tropical Storm Irma, but the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries will reopen, albeit later than usual.

“I'm hesitant to close the library all day Tuesday so we're going open at 12 noon, with staff reporting at 11,” CVL director Alan Harkness said in an email late Monday afternoon. “If the night is too hard, we'll adjust accordingly. We'll keep you in the loop.”

The operating hours for CVL’s seven branches vary, but they normally open at 9:30 a.m. or 10 a.m.
