Report ranks Tuskegee University No. 6 among historically black colleges and universities

U.S. News & World Report ranks Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Ala., No. 6 among historically black colleges and universities.

In its best colleges report, the magazine ranks Spelman College in Atlanta No. 1.

Howard University in Washington D.C. is ranked No. 2.

Hampton University of Virginia is ranked No. 3, Morehouse College in Atlanta is ranked No. 4, Xavier University in Louisiana is ranked No. 5.

Florida A&M in Tallahassee, Fla. tied with Tuskegee at No. 6.

On the Tuskegee website, interim president Charlotte Morris said, “Tuskegee University is focused on a model continuous improvement for all university areas especially academics.U.S. News’ ranking program is just one metric available to our university’s senior leadership with which we can evaluate our success and academic rigor over time.”
