The Ledger-Enquirer has compiled a searchable database that lists the salaries of Muscogee County School District employees for the 2019-2020 school year.

Obtained through a request under the Georgia Open Records Act, the information is accurate as of Nov. 8, 2019, according to MCSD.

The average annual salary for MCSD’s 4,442 full-time employees is $43,685. The median salary is $41,705. The median household income in Muscogee County for 2018 was $45,389, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

MCSD pays 71 employees a salary of more than $100,000.

Superintendent David Lewis earns the most at $186,000.

MCSD owns and operates the Columbus public libraries, so director Alan Harkness is on the list. He’s at No. 2 with a salary of $139,309.

The next seven are members of the superintendent’s cabinet and earn $133,465:

  • Terry Baker, west region chief.
  • David Goldberg, chief operations and facilities officer.
  • Ron Pleasant, chief information officer.
  • Keith Seifert, chief academic officer.
  • Theresa Thornton, chief financial officer.
  • Ronald Wiggins, east region chief.
  • James Wilson, central region chief.

The salaries for the other cabinet members are:

  • Angela Vickers, chief student services officer, $129,097.
  • Arleska Castillo, chief human resources officer, $127,074.
  • Mercedes Parham, communications director, $82,560.
