3 Columbus schools to have leadership changes if Muscogee board approves these moves
Three schools in Columbus will have new members of their leadership team if the Muscogee County School District board approves the superintendent’s recommendations this month.
The board is scheduled to vote June 21 on these appointments by Superintendent David Lewis:
- Jacqueline Mumpower to be principal of Wynnton Arts Academy
- Mortimer Floyd to be an assistant principal at Carver High School
- Jennifer Aguirre to be assistant principal of Hannan Magnet Academy
The moves would be effective July 1.
Mumpower would succeed Carolyn Mull, who is retiring. Floyd would succeed Lisa Norris, who also is retiring. The L-E reported last month that the vacancy at Hannan was created when Lewis recommended the promotion of assistant principal LaShonda Milledge-Miller to succeed Lisa Whitaker, who is transferring to Johnson Elementary School to succeed retiring principal Stephen Hanner.
The following information about the recommended appointees in the newest round of MCSD leadership changes is based on their resumes attached to the board’s agenda:
