The Muscogee County School District student who was taken to a hospital after an altercation with another student while changing classes Thursday has been released.

Responding to the Ledger-Enquirer’s request for an update, MCSD communications director Alicia Lawrence said in an email Friday that the Baker Middle School student was treated and released to her family Thursday.

Lawrence hasn’t disclosed details about the altercation or injury. The L-E also has asked whether any arrests or charges have been made in the case.

“There is no further information to be shared,” Lawrence said.

Thursday, she told the L-E in a text message, “The MCSD police, district staff and crisis support teams” arrived at the school after the altercation “to assist with the students, families and faculty.”
