Child molestation suspect identified. Columbus police arrest Muscogee school employee
A part-time employee of the Muscogee County School District was fired after being arrested by the Columbus Police Department following an undisclosed alleged incident involving a student.
MCSD announced the termination and arrest in a news release Monday but didn’t disclose the criminal charge(s) or any other details of the allegation.
The alleged incident happened May 31 off campus of an undisclosed school, according to the news release.
“The part-time employee previously cleared all background checks and had no previous disciplinary record with the school district,” the news release says.
MCSD communications director Kimberly Wright referred the Ledger-Enquirer’s questions to CPD.
According to the CPD arrest report, the suspect’s name is Hugh Bryant Perryman, 65. of Cataula, Georgia, and the victim is a 15-year-old male.
MCSD’s employee database shows Perryman worked for the school district as a speech pathologist.
