These are the nominees for Harris County Teacher and Support Person of the Year
The Harris County School District has announced the nominees for its Teacher of the Year and Support Person of the Year awards.
They are listed here by school, with the teacher mentioned first:
- Harris County High School – Valerie Longshore-Sargent and Mandi Smith
- Harris County Carver Middle School – Kristi Nelson and Gina Williams
- Creekside Intermediate School – Jessica Grubbs and Leslie Kinard
- Mulberry Creek Elementary School – Mallory Osbon and Allison McDaniel
- New Mountain Hill Elementary School – Amber Bradshaw and Lauren Davenport
- Park Elementary School – Heather Westad and Heather Coppedge
- Pine Ridge Elementary School – Abbie Hudson and Julia Higgs
- Education Opportunities Center (EOC) – Alesha Erickson
- Central Office – Tracy Munoz
They will be honored on Durham Field at Tiger Stadium before the homecoming football game Sept. 27, when the district-level winners will be announced. They also will be honored in May at HCSD’s Evening with the Stars annual event celebrating faculty and staff.
The HCSD Teacher of the Year will represent Harris County in the selection process for the Georgia Teacher of the Year, who will represent the state in the selection process for the National Teacher of the Year.
