Here's one way a parent can let the music a child listens to help improve reading comprehension.
Have the the student write down the lyrics of a song they like and think about the story the lyrics tell. Then, have the student use his or her imagination to write a sequel.
Sounds like a cool idea.

The publication also says parents should get their children to practice creative writing by making up their own songs.
It might be a fun thing to do on spring break.
