Columbus State University student Melora Slotnick honored by school in England

Columbus State University Melora Slotnick was recently honored by Edge Hill University in England with the Bob Wilson Award as its outstanding study abroad student for 2010-2011.

A school news release says Edge Hill, with 24,000 students, hosts 35-40 study abroad students every year from the United States and Mexico. Edge Hill is one of CSU's partner institutions.

Slotnick from Jonesboro, Ga., is a theatre education major.

The award came with a check for 100 British pounds (around $164).

While in England Slotnick landed the lead role in an Edge Hill theatre production of  "Carnival of Souls."
