Team places 3rd in international ice skating competition

Alyssa Allen (left), Elisa Bode (middle) and Mary Jo Fryer, members of the Columbus Figure Skating Academy, under the direction of Coach Breanne Moynihan, recently participated in the Ice Skating Institute Team Recreational World's International Competition.

Alyssa is a member of K Lynn Skate School in Montgomery, Ala., as well as the CFSA, and the girls joined and trained under the Montgomery Club coaches and participated with their team finishing third place out of 69 teams competing, including six international teams.

The girls received several lst place finishes in individual events which included 1,000 individual participants.

Alyssa is a senior at Columbus High, Mary Jo is a seventh-grader at Double Churches Middle School and Elisa is in the 6th grade at St. Luke School.
