41 children of Aflac employees receive scholarships

The W. L. Amos, Sr. Scholarships for 2015 have been awarded by the Lockwood Partners Foundation to 41 children of Aflac employees. Mr. W. L. Amos, Sr. was one of the three brothers who founded Aflac and served as President of American Family Corporation at the time of his retirement in 1978. 
 Pictured, from left, are the fourth year college students who each received a $4,000 scholarship: Bettye Amos Cheeves (daughter of Mr. Amos), Michael Gordon, Jr. (son of Lisa Seldon Gordon), Tyler Barker, (son of Tammy Barker-Stallion), Rachel Pearson, (daughter of Martin Pearson), Leslie Kelly (daughter of Lisa Kelly), RenQuista Mercer, (daughter of Velvet Jan Mercer), JaQuetta Thomas (daughter of Latania Harris) and Cecil Cheeves (son-in-law of Mr. Amos).
