Board to discuss budget for new Spencer High School

The Muscogee County School Board will discuss the budget for the new Spencer High School at a work session Monday night.

The work session is at 5 p.m. in the Muscogee County Public Education Center on Macon Road.

The 2015 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax budgeted $56 million for a new Spencer High School.

Superintendent David Lewis is asking the board to approve the budgeted amount, approve construction management at risk as the project delivery method and use a selection committee process to issue a request for proposal for the selection of a construction management firm.

In other business:

Lewis is asking the board to approve a purchase order in the amount of $45,469.20  to Pound Construction Company for the installation of noise reduction acoustical ceiling tiles and wall panels for the cafeteria and gym at South Columbus Elementary School.
