Muscogee County's public schools will allow students to enter one hour earlier than normal Monday morning due to the freezing temperatures in the forecast.
In an email to parents and guardians Sunday night, the Muscogee County School District announced: "This will help accommodate students who may arrive early, prevent students from being left outside in the cold and help building administrators/support staff communicate any issues that may need to be addressed immediately. We will continue to monitor the weather forecast and send updates as warranted."
MCSD communications director Valerie Fuller also delivered the announcement via telephone with a recorded voice message.
