A California man was rescued after falling about 75 feet from an embankment at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

The incident occurred at 5:08 p.m. on Feb. 12, according to Tweets from the Riverside Fire Department.

The man had been successfully rescued by 7:21 p.m. and was not injured, the department said in a Tweet.

Senior Public Information Specialist for Riverside County CAL FIRE Jody Hagemann told The Palm Springs Desert-Sun that officials were unable to use a helicopter to rescue the man and had to resort to a roping system instead.
