Tomatoes conceal 230 pounds of cocaine in tractor-trailer load, Las Vegas police say
A load of tomatoes in a tractor-trailer in Las Vegas concealed 230 pounds of cocaine, Nevada police said.
Officers pulled the big rig driver over on suspicion of erratic driving near Interstate 15 and St. Rose Parkway about 2:30 a.m. Friday, March 25, police said in a news release.
“The nervous driver had a story that didn’t add up,” police wrote.
Officers called in police K-9 Nuggetz, who detected drugs on the tractor-trailer, police said.
A search turned up the cocaine, with an estimated street value of $10.5 million, among the tomatoes, police reported.
Two men face a charge of trafficking a controlled substance, police said.
