Five kids crawl into underground storm drain and end up lost in New York, cops say
A group of kids crawled into a storm drain and got lost underground in New York, reports say.
Five children entered the storm drain and got lost in the tunnel underneath Clove Lakes Park in Staten Island on Tuesday, March 22, WNBC reported.
The kids, between 11 and 12 years old, called 911 when they couldn’t find their way out, WABC reported.
Rescuers managed to get the kids out of the tunnel near the Staten Island Zoo and took them to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton as a precaution, Staten Island Live reported.
One firefighter also went to the hospital to get checked out, WNBC reported.
Police told WABC the kids won’t be charged since they were playing when they got lost.
