Mom of 3 with ‘beautiful soul’ found dead near Washington barn, sheriff says
A 32-year-old mother of three was found dead near an abandoned barn in Washington, authorities and her family said.
JoAnna Speaks’ body was discovered before 6 p.m. April 8 in Ridgefield, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Her body was identified by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office, and her death is being investigated as a homicide, deputies said April 18.
There were “indications” her body was moved near the barn after she died, deputies said.
“This world will not be the same without her ... beautiful soul. She was definitely one of a kind,” her sister Robyn Speaks wrote on Facebook.
JoAnna Speaks had three kids, a loved one wrote on Facebook. She had two sons, 13 and 12, and a 7-year-old daughter, according to a GoFundMe created by family to raise money for her funeral expenses.
“JoAnna is survived by her three children, her parents/step-parents, three biological siblings, four step-siblings, three nieces, and one nephew,” her family said on the fundraising post.
Authorities ask anyone with information about her death to contact the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit Tip Line at 564-397-2847.
Ridgefield is about 25 miles north of Portland.
