An SUV hit and killed a 4-year-old as her parents pushed her in a stroller, California officials said.

At 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 15, the San Francisco Police Department said it responded after getting reports of a car crash involving pedestrians near a Caltrain station.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a child and her parents injured, officials said in a news release.

The parents and child were visiting from out of town when police said an SUV hit them in an intersection, according to KTVU.

“She was just lifeless and she just had blood everywhere. It was just so hard,” Sanaz Tahernia, a woman who was walking by during the incident, told KGO.

The SUV was “pinned against a pole after the crash,” KRON reported.

The girl was transported to a local hospital, where she later died, officials said.

Her dad suffered life-threatening injuries and her mother was left uninjured, according to KTVU.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene, police said, but it’s not believed drugs or alcohol were involved.
