Investigators have arrested a person possibly connected to the killing of UNC-Chapel Hill student Eve Carson, a Chapel Hill radio station and a Durham television station reported this morning.
Chapel Hill Police Chief Bryan Curran declined to confirm the reports, but he said a news conference was planned this morning. The timing of the news conference "depends on how things go inside the building," Curran said.
Radio station WCHL cited unnamed sources as saying that an arrest was made overnight in Durham and the arrestee has been turned over to the Chapel Hill Police Department. Television station WTVD said that heavily armed police arrested a man at a home on Rosedale Avenue in Durham.
Law enforcement officers had been looking at surveillance photos since Friday. Police on Saturday released photos from a local bank's ATM, then more from a local convenience store Monday.
