LONDON - British house prices rose by 3.8% in the year to April, after showing no growth in the year to March, the Office for National Statistics said on Wednesday.

The ONS said this marked the biggest annual rise in house prices since March 2025, before Stamp Duty Land Tax changes that came into force in April 2025.

Average UK monthly private rents increased by 3.3% in the year to May, compared with 3.5% the 12 months to April, the ONS said, marking the smallest rise since March 2022.
