April 15 (UPI) -- Nine people are dead after a school shooting in Turkey, the second incident in two days.

Eight students and one teacher were killed and 13 others were injured in the shooting at a high school in southern Turkey, said Interior Minister Mistafa Cifci. Six of those injured are in critical condition, he said.

The attacker, believed to be a teen, died by suicide.

It happened at Ayser Calik Secondary School in Kahramanmaras, Turkey.

On Tuesday, 10 students, four teachers, a police officer, and a cafeteria worker were injured in a shooting at the Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa province, in southeastern Turkey. The shooter on Tuesday, believed to be a former student, also died by suicide.

Authorities haven’t identified a motive.

Turkish media have reported that the shooter entered two classrooms and had five guns and seven magazines with him, The BBC reported. Local governor Mukerrem Unluer alleged that the guns belonged to the shooter’s father, a police officer.

“The sound of gunfire was very intense,” a reporter for Turkish broadcaster NTV said. There was “panic in front of the school,” they said.

The Turkish Justice Ministry announced a broadcast ban on the shooting for “the sake of the integrity of the investigation,” CNN reported.
