Jill Biden will visit Columbus while talks of president dropping out of race persist

First Lady Jill Biden will make an appearance Monday in Columbus as her husband battles for reelection, according to communications sent by the Democratic Party.

President Joe Biden again faces former President Donald Trump, seeking another four years in the White House after unseating Trump in 2020. Biden’s performance in a June debate against Trump has prompted heavy scrutiny and calls to drop out of the race.

But Biden says he won’t drop out, and Monday’s visit from the first lady could be crucial for the Biden reelection effort as they try to rally support in a state that proved essential to his 2020 victory.

Multiple media outlets have reported that Jill Biden’s visit to Columbus Monday will be part of a three-state visit. She will also visit Florida and North Carolina.

The Ledger-Enquirer will have coverage of Biden’s visit. Stay tuned to Ledger-Enquirer.com for more.
