Columbus and other area health departments closed Friday

The public health departments in Columbus and Crisp, Macon, Marion, Quitman and Schley counties will be closed tomorrow, Friday, March 18, for a furlough day.

“Unfortunately, the health department continues to experience budget challenges and therefore the need for employee furlough days continue as well,” said Ed Saidla, District Program Manager. “We regret any difficulty this one day a month closure may be causing the community. Public Health continues to strive to meet the needs of the public during challenging financial times.”
