Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the vice presidential nominee running with Kamala Harris, is set to visit Columbus Tuesday to urge voters to cast their ballots early leading up to Election Day.

Walz will arrive at the Columbus Airport late Tuesday afternoon before making a political stop and then delivering remarks at a campaign rally later in the evening, according to the Harris-Walz campaign.

“With fewer than 10 days until the election, Governor Tim Walz will underscore the contrast between Vice President Harris, Governor Walz, and Democrats’ vision for a New Way Forward to lower costs and protect our freedoms versus Donald Trump and JD Vance’s Project 2025 agenda that would give Trump unprecedented and virtually unchecked power over our lives, raise costs on hardworking families, and drag our country back to the past,” the campaign said in a news release.

Further details about the events weren’t released.

Harris, the current vice president and the Democratic nominee for president in the Nov. 5 election, has had a strong presence in Georgia for months. Other campaign events in Columbus have featured friends of the campaign and more local Democratic Party members.

The Republican Party also has held a strong presence in Georgia, which is likely to be a key state in determining who wins the presidency. Former President Trump’s campaign made a stop in Columbus earlier this month, as Republican Party advocates vouched for him to local voters.

Walz is also set to visit Savannah the same day, campaign officials said.
