Columbus Consolidated Government has adjusted its schedule before a second winter storm hits Georgia this month.

Muscogee County is expected to receive between one and three inches of snow in the winter storm expected to impact the region Tuesday afternoon, according to AccuWeather.

Waste Collection schedule

Waste collection services will follow a revised schedule this week from Jan. 20-25.

There was no collection on Monday because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and there will be the normal collection for Tuesday’s route.

No collection will occur on Wednesday.

On Thursday, waste will be collected for Monday’s route. Thursday’s route will be collected on Friday, and Friday’s route will be collected on Saturday.

City offices and other operations

Columbus Consolidated Government city offices and operations are closed on Tuesday. The schedule for Wednesday will be determined based on the outcome of the winter weather.

Recorder’s Court opened Tuesday for 8 a.m. hearings involving jail cases only. All traffic hearings were canceled.

The city will continue monitoring the winter weather forecast and will make changes to the work schedule as needed, according to a news release.
