Part of a busy downtown Columbus road temporarily will be closed next week to accommodate a major construction project.

Second Avenue between Ninth Street and 10th Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 10-14, the Columbus Consolidated Government announced Wednesday.

Beyond these hours, northbound traffic will be able to use this section of Second Avenue, the news release says, but the southbound lanes will remain closed while the Columbus Judicial Center is being built.

The closure is necessary to allow a tower crane to be disassembled at the construction site. Detour signs will be provided along Ninth Street, Broadway, 10th Street and First Avenue, according to CCG.

For more information about the closure, call CCG inspections and code director Ryan Pruett at 706-225-3878 or email him at rpruett@columbusga.org.
