Where to find new Columbus city government offices in latest round of relocations

Columbus residents can expect several city government offices to have a new address in the new year.

The Columbus Consolidated Government has announced the following departments are moving to City Hall, 1111 First Ave.:

  • Engineering Department
  • Planning Department
  • Community Reinvestment Department
  • Inspections and Code Department.

Those offices will close Jan. 2 and will reopen in their new location Jan. 5, according to the news release.

During the transition, residents can expect the following changes:

  • Public counters for the Inspections and Codes Department and the Engineering Department will be closed Jan. 5 and reopen at 1 p.m. Jan. 6 in the new location.
  • The Planning Department and the Community Reinvestment Department will be unavailable for in-person visits until Jan. 12. Both departments are available by phone and email during the transition.
  • Field inspections and phone communications will continue as normal.

In a follow-up news release, CCG clarified the following offices will remain at the City Services Center, 3111 Citizens Way:

  • Tax Comissioner/Tag Office
  • Revenue Department (until further notice)
  • Tax Assessor’s Office
  • Elections & Registration
  • Deputy City Manager – Lisa Goodwin
  • CCG-TV.
