A portion of the Chattahoochee Riverwalk in Columbus will be closed temporarily

A portion of the Chattahoochee Riverwalk will be closed beginning April 15 as work begins to replace a bridge at Oxbow Creek Golf Course.

The closure is anticipated to last a week, according to Thursday’s news release from the Columbus Consolidated Government. Approximately 2,500 feet of the Riverwalk will be closed, CCG engineering director Vance Beck told the Ledger-Enquirer, and run from Oxbow north along the golf course.

Along with replacing the Oxbow Creek Bridge, other infrastructure improvements at the golf course include renovating the Oxbow Creek Clubhouse.

Both projects are funded by the 1% Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax and are estimated to be completed this summer, according to a March 31 infrastructure update by city officials.
