20 candidates want this GA senate seat. Where they stand on 2020 election key issues.
Nearly two dozen people are vying for the Georgia U.S. Senate seat open after Johnny Isakson’s retirement at the end of 2019.
Gov. Brian Kemp appointed Republican Kelly Loeffler to Isakson’s seat, and she’s facing off against 19 other people who hope Georgia voters will choose them in the 2020 election.
Isakson left the Senate early because of “health issues,” several media outlets reported.
Recent polls show Democrat Raphael Warnock and Republican Doug Collins as front runners in the crowded race, along with Loeffler. Warnock has recently gained traction across Georgia after an endorsement from former President Barack Obama.
The candidates told the Telegraph and the Ledger-Enquirer about their stances on key issues voters care about in the 2020 election, including the coronavirus pandemic, economic recovery in Georgia and racial injustice after the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
