Want to get involved in the election in Muscogee Co? Here are some ways to volunteer
The 2024 Election may go down as one of the most important and contentious elections in America’s history.
If you are feeling moved to get involved beyond just going to vote, then there are some ways to volunteer for the election, whether you would like to maintain a non-partisan presence or be involved with your affiliated party.
Nonpartisan opportunities
For those who are interested in supporting the electoral process, but want to steer clear of party politics, there are several ways to get involved.
Election Protection Volunteer Program - This program, led by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law offers volunteers who are both legal professionals and non-legal volunteers an opportunity to be of service.
The Muscogee County Elections and Registration office is taking applications for poll workers. If you are interested, you can email them directly at muscogeepollworkers@columbusga.org.
The New Georgia Project offers nonpartisan opportunities for voter registration drives, get-out-the-vote efforts, and community engagement and outreach.
VoteRiders help ensure voters have the right identification to vote.
The League of Women Voters works to register voters, provide election information and advocate for voter rights.
Black Voters Matter helps marginalized communities exercise their right to vote.
The National LGBTQ Task Force is asking for volunteers for their efforts in driving LGBTQ+ people and allies to the polls.

The RNC Election Integrity Department works to maintain the authenticity of the electoral process. They accept volunteers to do the following:
Ensure voting is safe and secure
Work in key states to protect votes
Volunteer for election integrity efforts
Opportunities for Democratic volunteers
The Georgia Democrats need volunteers to man the Georgia Voter Protection Hotline (1-888-730-5816) which addresses a wide array of topics from providing information to voters to reporting incidents. No previous experience is necessary and they will train volunteers for the following duties:
Train on various voting scenarios
Take calls at the Atlanta call center
Provide information on voter registration, polling locations, and voting times
Report incidents such as long waiting lines or lack of ADA compliance
The Muscogee County Democratic Committee is a good way to get involved locally, and while different counties work with different strategies, most county committees offer the following services for which people can volunteer.
Serve as the primary point of contact between voters and the Democratic Party
Promote party development
Recruit candidates for public office
Support Democratic nominees
Qualify Democratic candidates for county office
Moblize.us is a Democratic organization that puts on events across the country to help the candidates win. There are several events upcoming in Columbus that need volunteers.
